Last Saturday morning Mrs. Roberts, of 15 Swallow street, Shepparton, received a letter dated 30-6-1918 from her husband, Lance Corporal Geo. Roberts, informing her that he had gained a stripe, and was in charge of a Lewis gun. In the evening of the same day, Mrs. Roberts got word from the Defence Department that her husband had been killed in action, leaving her with five little children, the eldest of whom is only 8½ years of age. Lance Corporal Roberts enlisted in Tatura 1 year and 9 months ago.
