We sincerely regret to announce that Pte. Llewelyn "Sam" Downing, a son of Mr. J. Downing, Pyrocantha, ex-stationmaster of Denbigh, has according to information just received by his father, been killed in action in Gallipoli. He gave up a good position in Northern Australia to enlist in the Australian Contingent, and went out with the first portion sent to the Dardanelles.

The sad news has been received that Pte. David Williams, son of Mrs. Williams, Brynyffynnon terrace, and the late Thomas Williams, has been killed in the recent fighting on the Hindenburg line in France. Prior to the war he had for some time resided in Australia, where his widowed wife still remains. He joined one of the Australian contingents and had seen much service in France
