Mr. and Mrs.Brooks, of "Hatherlow," Gloucester Road, Hurstville, received a cablegram on Saturday last stating that their son, Sapper Walter Brooks, 'has been killed in action. Sapper Brooks has seen two and a half years service in Egypt, Gallipoli, France and Belgium. He left Australia with the 17th Battalion in May, 1915. The Sydney Morning Herald (N.S.W.) 21-11-1917
