The death is now announced as having occurred in action on 8th August 1915 of William Forsyth White, of the Australian Imperial Force, who was previously reported wounded and missing. The deceased, who was a young man of much promise, was a stepson of the Rev. Robert Christie, M.A., East United Free Church, Gorebridge. (Midlothian Roll of Honour 1914-1918)
