Private A. C. Dark Killed in Action.
Before a great many of his local friends had heard that Private Arthur E. Dark, of Mirboo North, had landed in England, let alone in France, word
came through that lie had been killed in action on 28th August. The late Mr Dark had sailed from Australia just six months ago, and left England
for France during the first week in August, so readers can see his time at the front was most short, and shows the bad luck some of our heroes have. The late Private Dark was well known in the Mirboo North district, he having been farming at Nichol's Road for close on twenty years. He was a most popular man, and always had a pleasant smile for everybody. He was a son of the Rev. J. Dark. of Greenwick, New South VVales. He Jeaves a widow and daughter to mourn for him.
The deepest, sympathy is felt on all sides for the bereaved relatives.
